Atlantia names new CEO

Atlantia SpA appointed Carlo Bertazzo as its new CEO.

Bertazzo has been a member of Atlantia's board of directors since April 2013. The company's directors assumed executive power to manage Atlantia after Giovanni Castellucci resigned as CEO and general manager in September 2019 in the wake of the deadly bridge collapse in Genoa a year prior.

Bertazzo will be classed as a nonindependent executive director and will step down from his other current positions as Sintonia SpA's sole director and Edizione Srl's general manager by the end of February. Giancarlo Guenzi will remain as Atlantia's general manager, a role he assumed following Castellucci's resignation.

Edizione holds a 30.25% stake in Atlantia, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data. Sintonia is a subsidiary of Edizione.
