ASKUL fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

ASKUL Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Feb. 20 was ¥25.82 per share, an increase from ¥11.53 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.42 billion, an increase from ¥635.0 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 2.0% from 1.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 10.7% on an annual basis to ¥69.95 billion from ¥63.19 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 8.9% on an annual basis to ¥67.66 billion from ¥62.15 billion.

Reported net income rose on an annual basis to ¥1.41 billion, or ¥25.58 per share, from ¥522.8 million, or ¥9.49 per share.
