Lands' End Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Oct. 31 came to 57 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 40 cents per share.
EPS rose 26.3% year over year from 46 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $18.4 million, a gain of 26.3% from $14.6 million in the third quarter ended Nov. 1, 2013.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 4.9% from 3.8% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased year over year to $373.1 million from $383.9 million, and total operating expenses declined 6.3% from the prior-year period to $338.0 million from $360.6 million.
Reported net income grew 24.5% on an annual basis to $17.9 million, or 56 cents per share, from $14.4 million, or 45 cents per share.
