Daffodil Computers fiscal Q2 profit climbs YOY

Daffodil Computers Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, amounted to 25 poisha per share, a gain from 8 poisha per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 12.8 million taka, an increase from 4.5 million taka in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 10.7% from 4.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 14.3% on an annual basis to 119.4 million taka from 104.5 million taka, and total operating expenses totaled 97.9 million taka, compared with 97.2 million taka in the year-earlier period.

Reported net income increased on an annual basis to 20.1 million taka, or 40 poisha per share, from 6.9 million taka, or 13 poisha per share.

As of Jan. 29, US$1 was equivalent to 78.42 taka.
