National Beverage Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Jan. 31 came to 18 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 17 cents per share.
EPS climbed 29.6% year over year from 14 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $8.3 million, a gain of 29.8% from $6.4 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 5.8% from 4.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased on an annual basis to $143.0 million from $136.8 million, and total operating expenses climbed from the prior-year period to $129.5 million from $126.5 million.
Reported net income increased 26.8% year over year to $8.9 million, or 19 cents per share, from $7.0 million, or 15 cents per share.
