Unite Group appoints 2 nonexecutive directors

U.K.-based The Unite Group PLC said Tim Wilson, nonexecutive director and chairman of the health and safety committee, will step down from the board, effective Dec. 31.

The purpose-built student housing-focused real estate investment trust appointed Shirley Pearce and Steve Smith as nonexecutive directors, effective Nov. 1 and April 1, 2020, respectively.

Pearce has held chair, senior executive and nonexecutive roles at board level in higher education, health and policing, while Smith is serving as vice chancellor and chief executive of the University of Exeter since 2002. He will vacate this position in August 2020.
