Fanuc fiscal Q2 profit climbs 76.7% YOY

Fanuc Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was ¥239.92 per share, an increase of 76.8% from ¥135.73 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥46.94 billion, a gain of 76.7% from ¥26.56 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 26.2% from 24.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 63.6% on an annual basis to ¥179.50 billion from ¥109.73 billion, and total operating expenses grew 54.8% year over year to ¥107.58 billion from ¥69.52 billion.

Reported net income increased 79.6% on an annual basis to ¥49.17 billion, or ¥251.32 per share, from ¥27.38 billion, or ¥139.92 per share.

As of Nov. 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥115.15.
