U.K. electronics and telecommunications retailer Dixons Carphone PLC on May 21 announced that it had named Clare Pettitt as interim group CFO, effective immediately.
Pettitt succeeds Humphrey Singer, who will step down at the end of June to become CFO at U.K. retailer Marks & Spencer Group PLC, an appointment announced in January. Singer will remain as a Dixons Carphone director until his departure.
Pettitt, the group's financial controller, will serve in her temporary post only until the arrival of Jonny Mason, who was appointed to be Singer's permanent replacement in March. Mason, who is currently CFO of U.K. automotive, leisure and cycling retailer Halfords Group PLC, will step into his new role at a date that is yet to be confirmed.
The leadership changes come after a report that CEO Alex Baldock intends to simplify operations by creating a new management team.
