Japan Publications Trading Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, was ¥11.65 per share, an increase from ¥4.48 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥8.1 million, an increase from ¥3.1 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 0.5% from 0.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed year over year to ¥1.70 billion from ¥1.65 billion, and total operating expenses increased from the prior-year period to ¥1.69 billion from ¥1.66 billion.
Reported net income came to a loss of ¥4.0 million, or a loss of ¥5.73 per share, compared to income of ¥4.0 million, or ¥5.73 per share, in the prior-year period.
As of Feb. 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥112.83.
