China's Henan Shenhuo Group Co. Ltd. will start production at the first 150,000-tonne-per-year line of its aluminum smelting project in the Wenshan prefecture of Yunnan province Dec. 31, Reuters reported Dec. 26, citing unidentified company officials.
A spokesperson for the company's listed unit Henan Shenhuo Coal & Power Co.Ltd. confirmed the start date of the production to Reuters.
Another official, who refused to be named, told Reuters that it will take about a month for the product to come out after the smelter is switched on, adding that the full annual production rate of 150,000 tonnes is expected to be reached by March 2020.
The project was supposed to start in July but did not push through because of poor weather conditions.
