Mineral Deposits starts shipments from TiZir facility in Norway

Mineral Deposits Ltd. completed the first shipment of chloride titanium slag from its TiZir titanium and iron ilmenite upgrading facility in Norway ahead of schedule, it said March 28.

The furnace restarted production in January, and shipments were previously expected to start in early April.

The company expects the upgraded furnace and water-cooled copper-ceramic roof to increase smelting capacity by about 15%, and improve maintenance performance by lengthening periods between scheduled shutdowns.
