XL Catlin's global excess casualty insurance business named John Kopach regional underwriting manager in the southeast U.S. XL Catlin is the global brand used by XL Group Ltd's insurance and reinsurance companies.

Chubb Ltd. appointed Ignacio Borja as country president for Spain and Portugal (Iberia), subject to regulatory approval, to oversee all Chubb's property and casualty, accident and health and consumer lines operations.
Steve Rutledge, Alfa Insurance's executive vice president of operations, will retire on Feb. 1, Insurance Journal reported.

MetLife Inc. appointed Executive Vice President James Reid to lead its global employee benefits business.
Willis Towers Watson Plc hired Tan Juan Jim as talent and rewards business leader in Malaysia.
Brooks Tingle was named president and CEO of John Hancock Insurance, a part of Manulife Financial Corp. Tingle had served in the roles on an interim basis.
Chubb appointed Edward Ler as the new country president for its general insurance business in South Korea.
Pascal Alvarez was named president and CEO of Latin America-focused managing general underwriter Capital Bay Underwriting, which was recently launched by Ryan Specialty Group LLC. He will be responsible for all aspects of the business growing initially in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Chubb named Kevin Xiong head of agency management and agency underwriting and Alex Shi as senior manager of agency underwriting and business development at the new agency management and underwriting unit in Singapore.

Sompo International appointed Paul Ashworth the head of marine insurance for its London market insurance platform.
Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. said Stephen Postlewhite, CEO of its insurance business, will leave "with immediate effect." David Cohen, who is the president and chief underwriting officer of the business, will lead the day-to-day management in Postlewhite's stead.
Chubb appointed Jeff Moghrabi to the newly created role of senior vice president of strategic partnerships at its overseas general insurance division. The company also appointed Khun Nittaya Piriyathamwong as executive chairman of the executive committee for Thai operations and Edward Kopp as country president for Thailand.
President and CEO Bernie Flynn will retire from NJM Insurance Group on April 27. The company's board selected Mitch Livingston, COO and general counsel, to succeed Flynn.

Kelly Walsh was appointed senior vice president of underwriting for general liability.
Markel Corp. named Saurabh Madaan managing director of investments.
Everest Re Group Ltd. said Tony Apriceno joined Everest Insurance as business development leader for the risk management group.
