Nuclear update: Sequoyah 1 curtailment pulls down US output

Total U.S. nuclear plant availability took a small step back early Feb. 6 to 95.79%, down from 96.68% on Feb. 5 but was still much higher than the 92.19% reported on the same day a year ago.

Pulling down total output was a cutback at Tennessee Valley Authority's Sequoyah 1 in Tennessee. The unit saw production curtailed from 98% on Feb. 5 to 25% early Feb. 6.

As of early Feb. 6, Southern Co.'s Hatch 1 in Georgia and Entergy Corp.'s River Bend 1 in Louisiana remain offline.
