Vestas Wind Systems A/S secured a 249-MW turbine order from EDF Renewables Inc. for its 273-MW Las Majadas Wind Project in Texas.
The order includes supply and commissioning of the turbines as well as a 12-year service agreement to ensure optimized performance for the lifetime of the project. Vestas is expected to begin delivering the turbines in the second quarter of 2020 with commissioning scheduled by the third quarter of the same year.
The Las Majadas wind farm will be built in Willacy County, within the Electric Reliability Council Of Texas planning area, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data.
