LINE Securities launches mobile trading platform in Japan

LINE Securities, a unit of messaging app LINE Corp., launched a mobile investment platform allowing trades of just one share.

LINE Securities, a joint venture between LINE Financial Corp. and Nomura Holdings Inc., said in an Aug. 20 release that it selected 100 stocks and nine domestic ETFs for trading on the smartphone platform. To attract beginning investors, many shares can be traded for under ¥3,000.

The platform can deposit investment gains by bank transfer or through the LINE Pay online payment service.

LINE Securities was established last year as LINE Securities Preparatory Corp.

As of Aug. 19, US$1 was equivalent to ¥106.55.
