Amazon to open largest campus building in India

Amazon.com Inc. on Aug. 21 inaugurated its largest campus building worldwide in Hyderabad, India.

The site, which is the online giant's first campus outside of the U.S., is expected to house more than 15,000 of its 62,000 employees in the country.

Amazon said the campus building will be built on a construction area of 3 million square feet, of which 1.8 million square feet will be dedicated to office space.

The company will also test the beta version of its "Inside Day 1 Alexa Skill" program for employee engagement in the facility. The self-help tool, which will be hosted inside an Alexa Pod, provides workers with information about Amazon and the new Hyderabad site.
