Essential oils sold online on Amazon, eBay, Walmart recalled over poisoning risk

Phoenix-based Healing Solutions, which manufactures personal products, is recalling about 32,000 units of its own brand of essential oils whose bottles are found to be non-child resistant, posing a poisoning risk if the contents are swallowed by young children.

According to a Sept. 10 recall notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the affected essential oils were sold online on Amazon.com Inc., eBay Inc. and on Walmart Inc.'s online marketplace.

The products subject to the recall include all 10-, 30- and 60-milliliter amber glass bottles of Healing Solutions-branded wintergreen and birch essential oils sold before April 15 for between $10 and $23.

The agency is urging affected consumers to remove the products from the reach of children and contact Healing Solutions for a free replacement child-resistant cap.

According to the recall notice, there have been no reported incidents or injuries linked to the recalled items to date.
