Hunter Douglas Q3 profit climbs 31.9% YOY

Hunter Douglas N.V. said its third-quarter normalized net income was $1.35 per share, a gain of 49.8% from 90 cents per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $47.1 million, a gain of 31.9% from $35.7 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 6.2% from 5.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 16.1% year over year to $755.3 million from $650.7 million, and total operating expenses climbed 14.0% year over year to $674.2 million from $591.2 million.

Reported net income increased 89.6% on an annual basis to $58.6 million, or $1.68 per share, from $30.9 million, or 78 cents per share.
