Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Oct. 3 was 9 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 21 cents per share.
EPS declined 34.3% year over year from 13 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $1.5 million, a decline of 35.3% from $2.3 million in the third quarter ended Sept. 27, 2014.
The normalized profit margin fell to 1.0% from 2.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased on an annual basis to $85.6 million from $86.7 million, and total operating expenses came to $83.3 million, compared with $83.0 million in the year-earlier period.
Reported net income decreased 40.8% on an annual basis to $1.0 million, or 6 cents per share, from $1.7 million, or 10 cents per share.
