Fnac Darty unveils strategic plan targeting omnichannel services

French electronics retailer Fnac Darty SA on Dec. 4 unveiled its strategic plan, called Confiance +, which aims to develop a leading omnichannel services platform in Europe.

Under the plan, the company also set midterm goals to achieve growth faster than that of its markets, as well as an operating margin of 4.5% to 5%.

Fnac Darty CEO Enrique Martinez said in a statement that Confiance + will take the company into "the era of services platforms."

The plan's first focus is on deploying an enriched ecosystem. This includes developing the company's position as a specialist retailer, complemented by a range of additional services such as advice, financing and delivery as well as customer subscription and loyalty programs that would be open to third parties.

Fnac Darty is also looking to boost its omnichannel offerings through investments in the digitalization of its stores, e-commerce platforms and logistics assets. This part of the plan will see the company launch more than 200 new franchise stores, open more than 100 new stores or corners for its kitchen offering, debut its Smart Home support service for connected devices and strengthen its selection of partnership-based services, among other initiatives.
