Holiday Entertainment Q2 profit climbs 11.3% YOY

Holiday Entertainment Co. Ltd. said its second-quarter normalized net income was NT$1.05 per share, a gain of 11.3% from 94 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$154.3 million, a gain of 11.3% from NT$138.6 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 21.5% from 18.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased on an annual basis to NT$718.1 million from NT$734.2 million, and total operating expenses fell from the prior-year period to NT$580.0 million from NT$598.5 million.

Reported net income decreased 29.0% year over year to NT$194.5 million, or NT$1.32 per share, from NT$274.0 million, or NT$1.86 per share.

As of Aug. 9, US$1 was equivalent to NT$31.35.
