Report: EBay partners with Time magazine on AI-based shoppable image technology

E-commerce company eBay Inc. is partnering with Meredith Corp.-owned media company Time Inc. to pilot a new shopping platform integrating artificial intelligence technology, InternetRetailing reported March 13, citing eBay Vice President of U.K. Trading Murray Lambell.

Customers will reportedly be able to shop for items they see in Time's fashion articles that will feature "shoppable images" of celebrities wearing items that are available for purchase on eBay.

EBay is using its "Shop the Look" technology which it launched in 2016. Customers will be able to click on celebrity images and find matching items or alternatives on eBay, the report added.
