Lennar plans community, commercial center in Miami-Dade, Fla.

Lennar Corp. is planning a home community and commercial center on an 88-acre tract that it has under contract in the Princeton area of south Miami-Dade County, Fla., the South Florida Business Journal reported.

The community, to be called Silver Palms West, is expected to include 1,228 residential units and 79,611 square feet of commercial space, the publication said, citing a traffic study by Lennar.

Lennar filed a comprehensive development master plan application for the project, which would require rezoning of most of the property to low medium density residential, as well as business and office rezoning for a 5.6-acre site.
