Cinnober replaces chief technology officer, head of sales

Cinnober Financial Technology named Hans Sjöberg and Taraneh Derayati as its new chief technology officer and head of sales, respectively.

The appointments are part of the Swedish financial technology firm's succession plan, it said March 26.

Sjöberg joined the company in 2012, when it acquired Nomura's Swedish technology development unit. His previous roles at Cinnober include technical project manager and solutions architect.

In his new role as CTO, Sjöberg will lead the product organization within Cinnober, including DevOps, product architects and research and technology. He replaces Peter Lenti, one of Cinnober's founders and its previous CTO, who will remain active in the company in a senior technology architect and advisory role.

Derayati has worked at Cinnober since 2009 and was most recently in charge of delivering the company's real-time clearing system to Japan Exchange Group.

In her new role as head of sales, Derayati will be responsible for leading sales of Cinnober's exchange and real-time clearing technology to market operators and clearinghouses globally. She replaces Ulf Axman, who will remain with the company in a senior sales advisory role.
