U.K. grocer Tesco Plc named Charles Wilson as the next CEO of its retail and wholesale operations in the U.K. and Ireland.
Wilson will be appointed upon completion of its merger with food wholesaler Booker Group Plc, which has been approved by U.K.'s competition regulator and is expected to close March 5. Wilson will replace Matt Davies, who is expected to leave the company at the end of April.
Wilson began his career with Procter & Gamble Co. and eventually became an executive director at Marks and Spencer Group plc. Wilson is a director at Booker, where he previously served as CEO. Wilson owns 24,533 shares in Tesco.
