South Korean food company CJ Cheiljedang Corp. is considering acquiring a U.S. frozen food company to expand its global presence, Yonhap News Agency reported June 7, citing a regulatory filing.
The company reportedly said it plans to boost its competitiveness in the food business overseas through the acquisition of a U.S. processed foods maker, "but nothing has been decided in detail yet."
The news outlet said Cheiljedang's announcement comes amid reports that it is pushing to purchase Minnesota-based Schwan Food Co.
