Apple Inc. is working to introduce its own graphic chips and will stop using Imagination Technologies Group plc's intellectual property in its new products in 15 months to two years' time.
According to an April 3 news release, Imagination Technologies said it is discussing potential alternative commercial arrangements for the current license and royalty agreement with Apple and would not allow the company to infringe on its patents.
Also, Imagination Technologies believes that it will be "extremely challenging" for the iPhone maker to design a new GPU architecture from basics without infringing its intellectual property rights.
