Blackstone sells Boston office building for $806M

Blackstone Group Inc. sold the office building at 100 Summer St. in Boston to fellow private equity firm Rockpoint Group in September for $806 million, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing city property records.

The transaction completes the sale of a property portfolio formerly owned by Equity Office Properties Trust, which Blackstone acquired for $39 billion in 2007. The private equity giant has realized a $7 billion profit from the portfolio sale, the Journal reported, citing people briefed on the matter.

Coworking giant WeWork Cos. Inc., a unit of The We Co., reportedly agreed to lease the space at 100 Summer St. in June.
