C&A Textiles fiscal Q3 profit climbs 72.3% YOY

C&A Textiles Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31 was 37 poisha per share, an increase of 48.4% from 25 poisha per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 75.5 million taka, an increase of 72.3% from 43.8 million taka in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 9.7% from 9.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 62.0% year over year to 778.9 million taka from 480.7 million taka, and total operating expenses climbed 63.8% on an annual basis to 640.4 million taka from 390.9 million taka.

Reported net income rose 78.2% from the prior-year period to 118.3 million taka, or 57 poisha per share, from 66.4 million taka, or 37 poisha per share.

As of April 28, US$1 was equivalent to 77.94 taka.
