YFM Equity Partners exits marine-apparel brand Gill Marine

YFM Equity Partners LLP sold Gill Marine Holdings Ltd. to the Myers family office for an undisclosed amount.

The family office was working in partnership with Pop Capital, a private equity firm focused on luxury brands.

Gill designs clothing, footwear and accessories for sailors and marine enthusiasts. It is led by CEO Jamie Tunnicliffe, alongside COO Ian Poore, commercial director Dominic McCarthy and product director Matt Clark.

YFM, through its advised funds British Smaller Cos. VCT PLC and British Smaller Cos. VCT 2 PLC, supported the management buyout of Gill in 2013.

YFM and its shareholders received legal advice from Richard Medd and Sam Sharp at Browne Jacobson LLP. Ash Burman of Financo provided financial advice.

Osborne Clarke, Deloitte, Macfarlanes, PwC and Cains provided advice to the Myers family office. KPMG and Pragma Consulting provided financial due diligence support and commercial due diligence support, respectively, on the transaction.
