Nepal's Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli on Feb. 26 appointed former central bank chief Yuba Raj Khatiwada as head of the country's finance ministry, Reuters reported.
Khatiwada served as governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank starting in 2010. He is an alumnus of the Delhi School of Economics.
Oli, who began his second term on Feb. 15, named Khatiwada, along with other new ministers, amid the government's push to fight corruption and boost growth, Reuters said.
