Pinnacle Financial Partners/BNC Bancorp deal gets shareholder approvals

Shareholders of both Pinnacle Financial Partners Inc. and BNC Bancorp approved, in separate June 12 meetings, proposals submitted to each group related to the proposed merger of the two companies.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter.

Following the closing of the merger of the holding companies, Pinnacle Financial Partners unit Pinnacle Bank and BNC Bancorp unit Bank of North Carolina are expected to merge immediately.

Rebranding of all BNC offices and services is expected late in the third quarter.
