All Nippon Airways Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was a loss of ¥5.75 per share, compared with a loss of ¥14.42 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥2.01 billion, compared with a loss of ¥5.03 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to negative 0.5% from negative 1.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 16.2% year over year to ¥416.22 billion from ¥358.14 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 14.5% year over year to ¥415.50 billion from ¥362.81 billion.
Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥13.12 billion, or a loss of ¥37.55 per share, compared with a loss of ¥14.43 billion, or a loss of ¥41.35 per share, in the year-earlier period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥130.68 per share, compared to EPS of ¥88.00 in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥45.64 billion, an increase from ¥30.75 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue rose from the prior-year period to ¥1.713 trillion from ¥1.570 trillion, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to ¥1.628 trillion from ¥1.513 trillion.
The company said reported net income rose 107.8% year over year to ¥39.24 billion, or ¥112.36 per share, in the full year, from ¥18.89 billion, or ¥54.05 per share.
