Amphenol Corp. said its second-quarter normalized net income amounted to 49 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 58 cents per share.
EPS increased 7.2% year over year from 46 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $156.8 million, a gain of 5.6% from $148.5 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 11.6% from 11.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed year over year to $1.35 billion from $1.31 billion, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to $1.09 billion from $1.06 billion.
Reported net income rose from the prior-year period to $177.5 million, or 56 cents per share, from $173.7 million, or 54 cents per share.
