French business climate improves in September

French business climate improved month over month in September on the back of recovery in the retail trade sector, the country's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies reported.

The French business climate indicator edged up to 106 in September from 105 in August. The indicator measuring the business climate in retail trade gained four points to 104, while it was up by one point each in building construction and services to 112 and 106, respectively, in September.

The business climate in manufacturing cooled as the corresponding indicator fell by one point to 102 in September.

The employment climate indicator gained one point to 106 in September.
