Report: Discovery closes Ukraine office

Discovery Inc. closed its office in Kiev, Ukraine, Broadband TV News reports.

The American broadcasting company also fired two Ukrainian distribution managers, the report said, citing Telekritika.

The office closure and the dismissals took place at the end of 2019, with the company's Bulgarian office, headed by Yekaterina Mikhailovich, overseeing the distribution of Discovery channels in Ukraine since the start of 2020.

According to Telekritika, the unsatisfactory performance of Discovery channels in the country caused the move.

The report names the two dismissed managers as Anton Korchemakha, who was in charge of the distribution of Discovery channels in the Baltic States and Belarus, and Vladimir Zinchenko, who was in charge of distribution in Ukraine.
