Wyndham Hotels & Resorts' economy hotel brand, Microtel by Wyndham, entered into an agreement with developer Pete Patel for the construction of five new hotels under its Moda prototype design.
The new properties will be spread across Destin and Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; St. Rose and Chalmette, La.; and Midland, Texas, with the first hotels under the prototype design expected to break ground later in 2019.
The hotel franchising company said the Moda prototype aims to lower building costs, optimize efficiencies and drive greater returns for franchisees.
Wyndham said Mayur Patel of KM Hotels also recently agreed to build a prototypical Microtel by Wyndham hotel in Asheville, N.C., and a La Quinta by Wyndham in Richmond, Va.
