Italian retail trade slips in October

The value of retail sales in Italy was down 1.0% in October in monthly terms, after noting the highest rate of increase since January 2017 in the month before, the National Institute of Statistics said.

Annually, the value slipped 2.1% in October, as food retailing fell 1.7% and non-food retailing dropped 2.4%.

In volume terms, retail trade shed 2.9% annually and 1.1% monthly, the institute said.
