E.ON Climate & Renewables North America LLC has completed a 10-MW battery energy storage facility combined with a 2-MW solar array at the University of Arizona Science and Technology Park near Tucson, Ariz., according to a June 1 release.

The Iron Horse battery energy storage project will provide frequency response and voltage control for Tucson Electric Power Co., a subsidiary of Fortis Inc., under a 10-year contract.
