Davies to acquire UK-based insurance-focused law firm

Davies Group Ltd. agreed to acquire British insurance-focused law firm Keoghs LLP for an undisclosed sum.

The deal, which is subject to customary regulatory approvals, is expected to complete during the first quarter.

Keoghs, which offers dispute resolution and risk services for the U.K. insurance industry and manages more than £1 billion worth of insurer claims, will form a legal solutions arm within Davies.

The law firm's CEO, John Whittle, will continue to lead the business and join Davies' group executive committee. Additionally, Whittle and Keoghs' wider management team will join Davies and become shareholders in the enlarged business, according to the Jan. 20 statement.
