Choushimaru Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Nov. 15 came to ¥41.98 per share, a gain from ¥17.22 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥121.9 million, a gain from ¥50.0 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 2.7% from 1.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 5.9% on an annual basis to ¥4.45 billion from ¥4.20 billion, and total operating expenses climbed year over year to ¥4.26 billion from ¥4.13 billion.
Reported net income rose from the prior-year period to ¥114.0 million, or ¥39.27 per share, from ¥44.0 million, or ¥15.16 per share.
As of Dec. 26, US$1 was equivalent to ¥120.44.
