Lucapa Diamond Co. Ltd. said Sept. 3 that it achieved record monthly diamond production at the Lulo mine in Angola and the Mothae mine in Lesotho in August.
Production at Lulo totaled 3,180 carats, its highest since commercial production started in 2015. At the Mothae mine, meanwhile, it achieved a monthly processing record of 120,736 tonnes treated, while recovering a record total 2,911 carats.
The output resulted from scaled up production at both mines, part of the diamond producer's growth-focused strategy.
In August, Lucapa said its latest sales of diamonds from the Lulo and Mothae mines in Angola and Lesotho, respectively, hit about A$8.8 million in combined gross proceeds.
