The VC Beat: HackerOne gets $36.4M; AppZen receives $50M in series C round

* Bug bounty platform HackerOne Inc. obtained $36.4 million in series D funding led by Valor Management Corp., doing business as Valor Equity Partners. HackerOne secured $40.0 million in a series C round in February 2017.

* A $50 million series C financing round led by Coatue Management LLC was raised for artificial intelligence-based financial platform AppZen Inc., with participation from current investors Redpoint Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners. AppZen collected $35.0 million in a series B round in October 2018.

* Ziff Capital Partners LLC and Qiming Venture Partners USA co-led a more than $26 million series A-1 financing round for Platelet BioGenesis Inc., which has developed a platform that can generate stem cell-derived and on-demand human platelets, alongside existing backers Nest.Bio Ventures and eCoast Angel Network. Platelet BioGenesis collected $10.0 million in a series A round in May 2017.
