Swander Pace Capital acquires baked goods manufacturer

Private equity firm Swander Pace Capital, or SPC Management Co. Inc., paid an undisclosed sum for Cafe Valley Inc., a sweet baked goods manufacturer.

Cafe Valley CEO Brian Owens will maintain his post and will work with Swander Pace to grow the company by strengthening customer partnerships, investing in product innovation, and expanding its distribution footprint across North America.

Cody Peak Advisors LLC advised Cafe Valley on the transaction.

Swander Pace specializes in investments in consumer products companies. Cafe Valley, which has facilities in Phoenix and Marion, Ind., is an independent wholesale bakery serving the in-store bakery, club store, mass merchandise, food service and convenience store segments.
