Warabeya Nichiyo Holdings fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Warabeya Nichiyo Holdings Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, came to ¥35.87 per share, a decline from ¥36.97 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥631.9 million, a decrease from ¥651.3 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 1.3% from 1.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 5.6% year over year to ¥49.78 billion from ¥47.13 billion, and total operating expenses grew 5.7% from the prior-year period to ¥48.81 billion from ¥46.17 billion.

Reported net income rose on an annual basis to ¥659.0 million, or ¥37.41 per share, from ¥637.0 million, or ¥36.16 per share.
