Eagle Bancorp chairman/president/CEO retires

Ronald Paul is retiring as chairman, president and CEO of Bethesda, Md.-based Eagle Bancorp Inc., and as chairman and CEO of unit EagleBank, effective immediately.

Paul's decision was due to serious health developments that could hinder his ability to perform the role, according to the press release.

Vice Chairman Norman Pozez succeeds Paul as chairman of Eagle Bancorp, while Susan Riel was appointed interim president and CEO.

Riel was executive vice president of the company and senior executive vice president and COO of the bank.
