FirstEnergy to hold auction for default service for Pa. utilities

FirstEnergy Corp. is holding an auction to procure full requirements default supply generation service for default customers of its Pennsylvania utilities.

FirstEnergy subsidiaries Metropolitan Edison Co., Pennsylvania Electric Co., Pennsylvania Power Co. and West Penn Power Co. are seeking products including 12-month residential class for the delivery period June 2020 through May 2021, three-month commercial class for the delivery period December 2019 to February 2020, and 12-month commercial class for the delivery period June 2020 through May 2021.

The deadline for submitting prospective bids is Sept. 24, according to a news release. The auction, scheduled for Oct. 28, will be managed by independent evaluator and auction manager CRA International Inc.

An information session for prospective bidders will be conducted Sept. 4. Additional information is available at www.fepaauction.com.
