Bhartiya International posts fiscal H2 profit

Bhartiya International Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal second half ended March 31 amounted to 79.9 million rupees.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

Total revenue totaled 2.87 billion rupees, and total operating expenses totaled 2.63 billion rupees.

Reported net income came to 84.5 million rupees, or 7.38 rupees per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 15.97 rupees per share, a gain of 41.1% from 11.32 rupees per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 181.4 million rupees, an increase of 44.1% from 125.8 million rupees in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue rose 34.7% from the prior-year period to 5.58 billion rupees from 4.14 billion rupees, and total operating expenses grew 35.1% year over year to 5.12 billion rupees from 3.79 billion rupees.

The company said reported net income rose 44.7% year over year to 210.1 million rupees, or 18.50 rupees per share, in the full year, from 145.2 million rupees, or 13.06 rupees per share.

As of May 25, US$1 was equivalent to 63.59 Indian rupees.
