Amphenol Corp. said its normalized net income for the first quarter amounted to 48 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 56 cents per share.
EPS rose 14.0% year over year from 42 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $152.6 million, a gain of 12.5% from $135.6 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 11.5% from 10.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 6.5% year over year to $1.33 billion from $1.25 billion, and total operating expenses grew 5.4% from the prior-year period to $1.07 billion from $1.01 billion.
Reported net income rose 14.8% year over year to $181.3 million, or 57 cents per share, from $158.0 million, or 49 cents per share.
