Soiken Holdings fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

Soiken Holdings Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥2.03 per share, a decline of 22.9% from ¥2.63 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥53.1 million, a decrease of 22.9% from ¥68.9 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 7.7% from 10.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 6.1% year over year to ¥693.0 million from ¥653.0 million, and total operating expenses climbed 11.4% from the prior-year period to ¥608.0 million from ¥546.0 million.

Reported net income decreased 23.1% on an annual basis to ¥80.0 million, or ¥3.06 per share, from ¥104.0 million, or ¥3.98 per share.
